  9. Dork, you made a whole blog without even knowing that you cant copy apps to DSis they werent downloaded on XD
I'll explain how this works in case someone hasnt already cleared it up for everyone.

Each DSi unit has a unique encryption key installed on it at the factory where it is made, it is stored in the operating system.

When you download something from the shop and it writes the data on the NAND (internal memory), it runs it through the encryption key so the DSi can easily tell whether or not its the DSi that originally downloaded the software.
Thats why none of the files are copying when you try to copy them.
No game devoper wants to make a game knowing that just a few people will buy it and the rest will just copy it.
That's why Nintendo made the DSi to do that.

There IS a way around it, with one problem.

The NAND can be copied off of the DSi and saved onto a computer with special software run on the DSi. To do that someone has to make software that will trick the DSi into running files that its not meant to run. (this is known as "hacking")
All the files from the NAND would then be conpressed into one bin file, which could then be run through a program that would find the data for the encryption key and save it as its own file.

Now, when your DSi is first downloading an app, the data that is going through the router is NOT encrypted yet. so someone with a data capture program for their router can get the app file in its raw format.

Next step, a program uses the encrytion key copied from the NAND and encrypts the raw app data.
Then the DSi wouldnt keep you from copying the data onto it and running the app.
    Reehaw.

This brings me to the problem that I mentioned at the beggining.
No one has been able to hack the DSi.
    Nintendo made it too smart.
DS flash carts can still run on the DSi, but they cant access any of the DSi features. (SD slot, cameras, NAND)

Hopefully the 3DS will be the same way.
That way the devs will like it better and make more games for it.
That's why the wii doesnt have all that mant great games, people havked it right off and none of the good devs wanted to make games for it.

  10. Hope that helps.
One way you could save this blog is by using it to upload flipnotes rather than game roms until someone hacks it (if they ever do)

  12. Well, two things. One, it would be nice if you could download rar Files Directly to your DSi. Two, it would be nice if you could just post DSi Points Codes. Those Dumb Generators... You Know What I Mean!

  15. This is a good idea, but sadly, I don't think it'll ever work without some kind of modding to the DSi. Which will make people not want to download it. But this interests me, I'll now try it on the 3DS system, and see if it works.

  17. Hey Guys!

I'm not sure if this will work or not

But I just uploaded Legend of Zelda - Four Swords Anniversary Edition for DSI!

Just extract it and copy the folder to your "private" folder on your SD card.

You can get the "private" folder by copying an app onto the SD Card.

    Here's the download link!
